Polished Wizardry 8 Preview

I'll start this Wizardry 8 newsbit off with a quote:

I would say that this is the first game ever to properly model the monster commonly known as a "slime". Wiz 8's slimes look like they're made of jelly; they warble and wobble about with every little motion, and attack by flicking pseudopods in your general direction. They even have a free-floating nucleus (or is it an eye?) that floats in their core. To add to the liquid look, their outer surfaces sport great reflection maps that shift with each movement. These things even look cool in death; upon losing their final hit points, they deflate as if they've sprung a leak. The overall effect is great, and it's neat to finally see what a slime might really look like.

This comes from a nice sized preview from RPGPlanet of the game's press demo that (I can say first hand) looks absolutely polished, but is still without a publisher.
