Heart of Winter Overview

RPGPlanet has posted up an overview of the soon-to-be-released expansion for Icewind Dale, Heart of Winter. It goes into the details of its enhancements as well as the storyline surrounding the addon. Here's an excerpt:

Several new gameplay luxuries have also been introduced, namely the addition of gem bags, scrolls cases, and potion bags, the later of which is totally new. These tools to simplify inventory management are even more important in Heart of Winter, as you will accumulate many items and will have to juggle them. Other minor conveniences introduced from Baldur's Gate II include the ability to purchase arrows, potions and other items in bulk quantity. No more purchasing one group of arrows at a time until you have twenty groups of arrows! As well, the game adds the removable interface, so players will have the option of hiding the side panels or the entire interface. Character class kits from Baldur's Gate II have not been added, nor any third edition D&D rules, aside from the incorporation of the Thief class's sneak attack, which is essentially a weaker, but easier to pull off, backstab attack.
