Scape-IT's retro RPG SKALD: Against the Black Priory is notable, among other things, for its impressive use of pixel art. And according to this Twitter announcement, the game's developer has managed to put together a tool that can easily turn the game's static images into neat little animations.
By the looks of it, this new tool will make the game more dynamic while also serving as a cost-saving feature.

Much more could be made of the animation above but the upside is that it's very fast to make! It took about 15 min to animate it and all I needed was for the artist to turn in the art in layers.

We could never afford (or find time for) frame animation but this will do nicely
