DIVE INTO THE PITT WITH THE DEVS

On Tuesday, The Pitt Update for Fallout 76 will bring the Expeditions system to the game, and you will be able to leave Appalachia for the very first time as you embark on dangerous Missions to The Pitt. We recently sat down with Lead Level Designer Craig Bernardo and Senior Quest Designer Chris Marshall to hear their thoughts from the development perspective on how Expeditions will work, what it was like to bring The Pitt to life in Fallout 76, a rundown on the new rewards you will be able to earn, and more! Watch our latest Dev Dive video below to catch some developer insights before you gear up to take on The Pitt.

WHAT’S IN STORE ON PATCH DAY?

If you’re looking for even more information about The Pitt Update, we’ve got you covered with an overview of the major features and improvements coming to the game when the patch arrives:
  • The Responders Are Back! – A new crop of Responders have come together to revive the former faction’s noble mission. They’ve even taken up residence at The Whitespring Resort, which they’re now calling “The Whitespring Refuge.” In addition to supporting refugees and new arrivals in Appalachia, they hope to use their recently restored Vertibird to lend aid to distant settlements. Complete Daily Quests for the Responders at the Whitespring Refuge to charge up the Vertibird’s Ultracell Battery and lead Expeditions to your first destination: The Pitt.
  • Embark on Missions – Fire up the Vertibird and take flight to The Pitt alongside up to three other teammates. There, you will be able to take on challenging, repeatable Missions: “Union Dues” and “From Ashes to Fire.” Rendezvous with Union Local leaders Hex and Danilo to aid their people in fighting back against the bloodthirsty and tyrannical Fanatic Raiders. Make sure you’re packing some firepower. Those raiders won’t go down without a fight, and they’re not the only threat lurking in the shadows of The Pitt.
  • Claim Your Rewards – As you complete Missions for the Union in The Pitt, you will be handsomely rewarded for your efforts with Legendary Gear, Scrips or Treasury Notes, loot, and loads of XP. Once per week, you will receive a new plan from the Expeditions rare rewards pool, which offers mods for your gear, new C.A.M.P. objects, Pitt-themed items, and more. Everyone on the team will also earn Stamps based on their performance during a Mission. Stamps are a new in-game currency you can collect to purchase the specific items you want from the rare rewards pool by visiting Giuseppe at The Whitespring Refuge.
  • Farewell, "Dread Island." Hello, "City of Steel!" – Ride shotgun with Red Rocket on a road trip to experience Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in all its (former) glory on an all-new Scoreboard, called “The City of Steel.” During your Season 10 journey, you will be able to rank up to get your hands on a suite of new rewards that include the Auto Axe and Union Power Armor. Head here to learn more about Fallout 76 Season 10, the new rewards, and our latest Community Calendar.
    • Reminder: Don’t forget to revisit the Season 9 Scoreboard before Season 10 begins on September 13! Any rewards you’ve unlocked during Season 9 that remain unclaimed by then will vanish like most of the folks who happen to wash up on Dread Island’s shores.
Of course, The Pitt Update will also include a new wave of improvements and bug fixes in addition to the features mentioned above. Make sure to keep an eye on Fallout.com to catch the patch notes once maintenance begins on Tuesday, September 13.

LEGENDARY SALE THIS WEEKEND!

Purveyor Murmrgh knows a good opportunity when she spots one, and she’s keenly aware that some Dwellers managed to stuff their pockets full of Legendary Scrip after last weekend’s Scrip Surplus. If your Scrips have been burning a hole in your pocket, then maybe it’s time to pay The Purveyor a visit, because she’s hosting a legendary sale this weekend. Stop by Murmrgh’s shop inside the Rusty Pick in the Ash Heap region to get legendary weapons and armors for 25% off her usual prices. Who knows? Maybe you will score the perfect addition to your personal armory just in time for your trip to The Pitt next week.

Purveyor Murmrgh’s sale begins at 12:00 p.m. ET today, and it will last until that same time on Monday, September 12.

Until next time, we’ll see you in Appalachia!
