Queen's Wish 2: The Tormentor February 2022 Update

This month's Kickstarter update for Spiderweb Software's upcoming RPG Queen's Wish 2: The Tormentor shares a quick progress report, a couple of screenshots, and the studio's plans for the immediate future. It also mentions the recent Make-a-Dungeon contest and its winners.

Check it out:

Greetings to our kind backers! Work on Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor is proceeding according to schedule, and this is a great time to let you know how things are going.

The game world is now well over half done. Many towns, many dungeons, dozens of quests, a rich story with lots of difficult and interesting choices, it’s all in there. Our awesome artists are making lots of cool art, some of which is below.

We’ve gotten pretty heavy into fantasy politics for this game, so your dungeon delving time alternates with opportunities to use your powers in other ways. The wild, barbarian land of the Rokaj is a mess, but it will also resist your attempts to remake it to your tastes.

We have done a lot of in-house testing to make sure the game plays well. Now we are almost ready to begin beta testing. Like all of our games, Queen’s Wish 2 will get months of testing to make sure the release is as smooth as possible.

We are still hoping for a release at the end of Summer, 2022. Somewhere around there.

Queen's Wish 2 Make-a-Dungeon!

We got a ton of great responses to our Make-a-Dungeon challenge, and we’re getting ready to add a bonus quest line to the game based on your feedback.

We are going to use a lot more of your suggestions than just one from each category. There were plenty of intriguing ideas, and we want to work in a lot of them. The winners were:

Three nouns - Friendship, starlight, library.

Fun Game Mechanic - The player has to flee from an invincible enemy to lure them to a trap and defeat them.

Quote - "I didn't realize what was really worth fighting for until it was already lost."

Now you’ll see what we do with this!

What Is Coming

We’ll concentrate on finishing the game world and start beta testing, so that the product can become actually polished and shippable. We also need to focus on making a trailer and creating our Steam page, but we need a little more art in hand. It’s coming!

And that is all for now. Everything is going well, and the game is coming along. Enjoy some new art below!
