Gamedec Updates, $133,039 and Counting

Anshar Studios’ Kickstarter campaign for their cyberpunk detective RPG Gamedec keeps working towards some of its bigger stretch goals, with $133,039 currently pledged and 9 days left to go. When it comes to campaign updates, we now have update #16 where we can learn that upon reaching the $140k stretch goal, the game will get a new H.P. Lovecraft-inspired virtual world. Then, there’s update #17 that directs us to a recent Reddit AMA with the team, and update #18 that talks about Observer System Redux, Anshar Studios’ other current project.

Here’s what you can expect from the Cthulhu-flavored virtualium:

In the last update about Stretch Goals, we gave you a chance to decide which virtualium should be added next via an exclusive survey – that one came with the "time limit" of reaching out to the current funded stretch goal. It's time for the results of the poll!

CTHULHU

"This place has only three exits, sir: Madness and Death."

- Rene Daumal

They say there is a virtualium that can make one mad. That somewhere in the small port town, every shadow hides a whisper, and every whisper knows a secret. If you look at a window – there will always be a pair of eyes looking right back at you. If you look at the lighthouse – you're sane mind will be blinded. The Old Ones claimed that town years ago, guarding secrets that might shake the very fabric of time and space. Or at least, so they say – no one achieved that while keeping their mind intact. And when you fall into the warm embrace of insanity – you lose. You wake up in the realium, and all that you've seen is like a distant nightmare, fleeting from your memory. Your decisions are yours again. But you go back there, time after time.

Now the best ones – those who get closest to the truth – don't wake up as themselves anymore. They belong to the Abyss. Broken.

Would you try going there, Gamedec, sir? Knowing you'll have only one chance at solving this case and still, it might cost you your mind?

Over 70% of the people who voted decided that they are interested in the virtualium inspired by the H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Lore. We've also seen tons of comments around all our social media channels, and on the Kickstarter campaign as well about YOU wanting this particular Virtualium to solve a case in. What do you expect for this virtualium to offer in form of a case? Leave a comment! Of course, the result of the survey doesn't mean that this Virtualium will be added – To do that, we need to reach the stretch goal of 140k. Share the news about the upcoming virtual world, which may be available by you supporting our campaign and help us bring it to the Gamedecverse.
