Earlier this year, Scape-IT's old-school RPG SKALD: Against the Black Priory was successfully funded on Kickstarter. The game is described as a turn-based dark fantasy RPG that combines modern design sensibilities with an 8-bit look and feel. And if you missed your chance to back this curious project on Kickstarter but would still like to support it, you can now pledge some money to this follow-up Indiegogo campaign that should stay live until the end of the year.
This Kickstarter update explains the reasons behind the new pledge drive:
Today is an exciting day as SKALD has just launched on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo "InDemand"!
InDemand is a service offered by Indiegogo to allow already successful projects to use the momentum of post-campaign interest to raise more funding!
After the Rock Paper Shotgun interview, SKALD is getting a lot of attention. I’m getting daily requests from people who want to know how they can support the project and if it's still possible to get their hands on a physical edition of the game.
This is fantastic and I would love to swell the already awesome community even more!
Adding more funding will also allow me to take more time off of my full-time dayjob. This means that the game will be much more polished at release and that post release features (such as modding support) will arrive much sooner!
Fear not: I will take great care to not swell the scope of the project! Adding more funding will reduce risk whilst giving me a bigger safety net! It will also ensure the final product gets an extra coat of polish! Backers on Indiegogo will also have access to the same rewards and at the same prices (no preferential treatment either way).

SKALD: Against the Black Priory is a tile and turn based roleplaying game where you lead a party of up to six characters on an epic and perilous quest.
The game features:The game will release on Windows first with releases for handheld devices down the line. NOTE: The demo and BETA version is for Windows only!
- Vintage graphics using the glorious Commodore 64 color palette (complete with optional CRT filter)
- Complex level-based character development with abilities, skills and features
- 5 core classes with several sub-classes per class.
- Grindless tactical combat
- Divine and arcane spellcasting
- "Choose-your-own-adventure" system and dynamic, tree based dialog.
Estimated release date is June 2020.
