Witching Hour's development team is finally ready to unveil the release date for Masquerada: Songs and Shadows. The lean and story-focused RTwP RPG will be released on September 30, and the occasion is celebrated by a completely new trailer:
I'm not quite sure if I'm excited about this one. The idea of an RPG with little to no player agency and no choices doesn't appeal to me, and I found the combat to be surprisingly unwieldy and chaotic during my own playthrough of the title's demo. Then again, the setting has a lot of promise, and enough time has passed from the release of the demo that I imagine the gameplay might be in better shape now. We'll see how this one fares at release, I suppose.
