The Elder Scrolls VI Will Likely Be Preceded by Two Other Major Bethesda Projects

During an E3 interview with Geoff Keighley, Bethesda Game Studios game director Todd Howard confirmed that his team is currently working on The Elder Scrolls VI, though the game is still "a very long way out". According to Howard, who was less guarded than usual when talking about the company's future plans, that's partly because of the company's ambitious vision for the title and partly because the company will release two "bigger than anything [they] have done before" titles first. I should note that this very neatly lines up with Howard's "three longer-term projects" comment from February, in spite of Bethesda's attempts to later retract that comment.

Howard also confirmed that Bethesda doesn't necessarily intend to alternate between Fallout and The Elder Scrolls as franchises, even though, since Fallout 3's release, that very much looked like Bethesda's strategy.
