The folks at Koei Tecmo have published a new gameplay walkthrough for Ni-Oh on the official Team Ninja YouTube channel. The walkthrough is completely in Japanese, but considering the game mostly focuses on action versus social interactions or reading, the vast majority should be perfectly understandable even for someone who doesn't speak the language like me.

Overall, it's clear that we're dealing with an action-RPG that's faster and influenced by the Japanese action game tradition, although the developers are also taking some cues from From Software's "Souls" franchise:
