Path of Exile: Ascendancy Launch Date Confirmed

The latest PR e-mail we've received from the folks at Grinding Gear Games confirms that the Ascendancy expansion pack to Path of Exile will be released on March 4th, something they had already been strongly hinting at a month ago. The expansion pack will launch alongside the Perandus Challenge League and will bring a host of new features:

Path of Exile: Ascendancy and new Perandus Challenge League launch on March 4th!

Fight your way through the traps and trials of the Lord's Labyrinth to ascend to one of nineteen new Ascendancy Classes.

What's New in Ascendancy?
  • Nineteen Ascendancy Classes: There are 19 new Ascendancy classes, each with its own unique skill tree to master.
  • Trials of Ascendancy: Izaro has crafted a new challenge for players: elaborate puzzle rooms built with six types of lethal traps.
  • The Lord's Labyrinth: Never the same challenge! The overall layout of the Labyrinth shifts every day, uncovering new puzzles and secrets.
  • Enchantments: Powerful new ways to modify and enhance your gear. Each time the Labyrinth is completed, you may add one of these enchantments to an item.
  • 11 New Gems: Path of Exile: Ascendancy introduces 11 new gems including seven skills and four supports that encourage new and dynamic playstyles.
  • Many New Items: Featuring dozens of Unique Items and Divination Cards designed by Path of Exile's community, Ascendancy adds tantalizing power for players to discover.
  • Perandus Challenge League: A new Challenge League launches alongside Path of Exile: Ascendancy for both Standard and Hardcore players.

Full details for the Perandus Challenge League will be announced closer to the expansion's release date. Considering the launch is planned for next week, we likely won't have to wait long.
