The two other titles nominated for this award, the winner of which will be named on February 13, were Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

The Writers Guild of America's videogame awards have been controversial in the past for nominees that were often considered subpar and draconian submission requirements, so in practice I wouldn't consider this award to have an enormous significance, but it's still good to see two titles on the list that I would have never have expected to see there just a few years ago.
