Toxicity in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The folks at Game Informer have reached out to CD Projekt to know more about the little details that "enhance the immersion" in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and ended up learning some more details on the visual representation of toxicity in the process. Their short article on the subject includes both a couple of snippets from lead quest designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz and a screenshot showcasing how Geralt looks when his toxicity is at an alarmingly high level:

The potions take a toll on Geralt, and you won't need a bar on the user interface to monitor how he's doing. (The higher the toxicity bar, the more those toxic changes show on Geralt's face,) Tomaszkiewicz says. (His face becomes unnaturally pale, his veins become visible and seem to be black, dark circles appear under his eyes, etc.)
