Shadowrun: Hong Kong Kickstarter Raises $1,204,726 in Total

The Shadowrun: Hong Kong Kickstarter campaign is now over and successfully funded. Throughout the campaign's length, Harebrained Schemes has managed to raise more than $1.2 million in funds, managing to hit every single stretch goal outlined, which means that the campaign is poised to include additional companions, revamped magic and Matrix systems, and more. On top of that, a 4-5 hour mini-campaign is also planned.

I'd imagine the development team has taken a moment to celebrate the momentous occasion, but the normal routine that was shown in the last update the project received before its successful funding will probably reprise soon. An excerpt:

Okay, we know it's not much of a spectator sport...

We start every day standing in a circle, reporting what we did yesterday and what we plan to do today. After that, most days contain long stretches of intense silence while each person focuses on the task at hand. Those silences are punctuated by several intensely loud overlapping production conversations.

And yes, we sit very close together - wouldn't have it any other way. Communication can be really challenging in the fast-paced world of game development, so we figure that if we're sitting on top of each other there's a good chance of someone overhearing something they need to know. It may sound a little chaotic but in our experience, it's way better than the alternative.

Of course, a room full of geeks can't help but occasionally break out into a spontaneous conversation about Jupiter Ascending or something and lunches usually involve Darkest Dungeon these days.

Congratulations to Harebrained Schemes for yet another successful Kickstarter campaign, in the hope that Hong Kong might be to Dragonfall what Dragonfall was to the original Shadowrun: Returns.
