Lords of the Fallen Preview

The Examiner has another preview for City Interactive and Deck13's action-RPG Lords of the Fallen, with a few quotes from producer Tomasz Gop:

If you are worried about dying and losing your progress, it sounds like Lords of the Fallen will have frequent save points, as Gop told us. Save points will also allow players to spend and save their accumulated experience points.

When engaging in battle, it's absolutely crucial that players make sure they are paying attention to an enemy's attacks. In the demo we saw, it just took one major strike from an enemy for Harkan to really lose most of his health. Learning an enemy's patterns will be crucial in defeating them. After slaying an enemy, players will need to make sure they pickup the experience points right away because if not, the longer the XP sits there, the more it will decrease in value until it is picked up.

Gop promised that while Lords of the Fallen will be a challenge for players, it will not punish them, like we typically see in Dark Souls. He said for the hardcore audience, the game will take about 20-30 hours to complete and then for mainstream players, it will run about 40-50 hours long.
