Path of Exile Reviews

Grinding Gear Games' Path of Exile continues to garner favorable reviews around the web, with several more critiques cropping up over the holidays.

RPGFan gives it an 88%:

Preference among Diablo, Torchlight, and Path of Exile may be a matter of taste. To be quite honest, all three series have proven themselves to be top-notch experiences in the realm of action RPGs. In terms of atmosphere and the unique approach to character building, each latest title offers an engaging experience guaranteed to wile away the hours. I've immersed myself in each world, and although I'll happily play the next title in each series, for right now Path of Exile stands above the rest.

NZGamer gives it a 9/10:

The gameplay is very similar to Diablo, with the birds eye view of your character and one of the main ways to upgrade your character being collecting the many weapons left littering the battlefields. Doesn't make the gameplay original, but it is well done with lots to collect, many skills to unlock and always something new to discover around the next corner.

Red Door Blue Key gives it a 4/5:

Path of Exile breaks radically from ARPG tradition, and in so doing repairs many of the faults that I had long viewed as simply intrinsic to the genre. When it comes to combat, though, the game's a regular Barry Goldwater. If the constant sameness of ARPG click-fighting really grates on your nerves, best sigh and move on. Otherwise, you should make time to play this most ambitious of games.

And GameGrin gives it an 8.5/10:

Overall, Path of Exile is a stonking dungeon crawler that will swallow all of your free time and keep on asking for more. A free to play gem in the sea of shitty cash cows that normally claim to be F2P but are more geared to hoover your wallet's dry. The easiest way of grabbing this game is to simply head over to Steam and download it.
