Deus Ex: Human Defiance is April Fools Joke

Though somewhat predictably so, the recently-unveiled Deus Ex: Human Defiance has been revealed as a fraud - specifically, an April Fools joke by Eidos Montreal and Square Enix on their suspecting fans. Though this 8-bit Deux Ex will likely never see the light of day, that didn't stop them from coming up with some screenshots and a trailer for it on their web site.
Eidos-Montréal's Deus Ex: Human Revolution development team is one of the most dedicated crews in the industry... almost as dedicated as our fans. Listening to you guys is our top priority. When we started brainstorming for the future of the franchise, we wanted to give you Deus Ex as you've never seen it before. To create something new, edgy, unexpected. To take Adam Jensen to a whole new dimension.

The second dimension.

Introducing Deus Ex: Human Defiance, the first adventures of Adam Jensen in full, glorious 8-bit. Human Revolution brought about the cyber-Renaissance, Human Defiance marks the beginning of a Digital Golden Age. Human Revolution was all about triangles. Now we're doubling down, flipping one over and revelling at its brand new form: the square... the pixel. It's a natural evolution!

This new format allows us to bring you the content from Deus Ex: Human Revolution that you always asked for.
Of course, there's probably a few people out there who actually wouldn't mind seeing a game like this get made for real...

Update: Going from Eidos Montreal's official Twitter account it appears that Deus Ex: Human Defiance was actually a candidate for the title of something (the tweet doesn't elaborate and this point I prefer not to take any chances), and when it was dropped they decided to use it for an April Fools joke. That explains the trademark!
