Mass Effect PAX Panel Brings Statistics on Mass Effect 3

Some of you might be aware that BioWare was present at PAX this weekend and held a retrospective panel on the Mass Effect series, which is where Kotaku has gotten the info I'm posting about right now.

Aside from the usual trivia that is only interesting for the most die-hard fans, BioWare has made a few player statistics from Mass Effect 3 available, including the most used companions, the percentage split between male and female Shepard characters (overwhelmingly in favor of the male one with an 82%/18% split, flying in the face of internet's popular opinion that "FemShep" is the better character), and that "paragon" is the preferred path by players of the title with 64.5% of them going that route.

While this is interesting, I can't help but feel that the most important part of the equation is BioWare's interpretation of this data, and how it'll influence the development of the next Mass Effect title (the first to not be part of Shepard's story). It's early days for that title though, so I suppose for now we can't do anything but wait.
