As for whether the Kickstarter campaign will continue (and the team rehired after the funding) or not, the burden falls on backer, as Chris Taylor asked them to give their votes in the video.
Grim stuff all around, although I can't help but wonder why the team has been laid off now rather than at the beginning of the campaign, and whether backers should really be making the decisions themselves. Either way, best of luck to everyone affected.
