Dragon's Dogma Shipped 1.05 Million Copies but "Struggled Abroad"

We already knew that Dragon's Dogma had shipped at least 1 million copies from an earlier Capcom's press release, but now, thanks to their first quarter fiscal report (you can find the slides here and a press release here) that despite its relative success and Capcom's already announced intention to turn it into a series of titles, the open-world RPG "struggled abroad":

a. In this business segment, "Dragon's Dogma" (for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360), the first large-scale open world game for Capcom, struggled abroad, but its popularity in the more profitable domestic market exceeded expectations by selling more than one million copies.

Assuming Capcom does indeed turn Dragon's Dogma into a series, I hope this doesn't mean the next title of the franchise won't be localized or will migrate to handheld platforms.
