Mass Effect 3 for Wii U Will Have Extended Cut DLC Embedded

While not entirely surprising, it's still worth pointing out that Mass Effect producer Michael Gamble has confirmed to Siliconera that Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U will have the Extended Cut DLC directly embedded into the game. Hey, at least this means we don't have to live through another ending controversy once Nintendo fans get their hands on the game:
"The extended ending is basically going to be part of the game instead," Michael Gamble, producer of the Mass Effect series said to Siliconera. "You won't have to download it."

Bioware also showed a new multiplayer mode, a free DLC pack that brings players back to Earth. I selected a N7 Shadow, essentially a cybernetic ninja, and fought waves of enemies. Since my character was clearly over-leveled and armed with a freezing rounds the horde didn't stand a chance. Actually, that's one way to describe "Earth" because it's similar to Gears of War 3'²s Horde gameplay mode. Players shoot through eleven waves of enemies with breaks during waves three and six with different objectives. During my play through, we had to escort someone to a safe zone and later on I had to defend an area while one player hacked a terminal. Waves 1-10 have heavy combat leading up to the eleventh wave where you have to hold your ground until a ship comes in and takes you away.

"You know at the beginning of the game when Shepard leaves Earth? Anderson stays behind and rallies everyone behind him," Gamble explains. "That's the timeline when it takes place. "During the campaign of Mass Effect 3, I wouldn't say it takes place in at any particular point during that. It's just the constant struggle for holding on to those key resources on Earth."
