Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Ultimate Edition Review

In case you are interested in knowing whether Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Mac port is worth your hard-earned money you might be interested in reading this review from the folks at Inside Mac Games, which awards the title an impressive 9.25/10. Here's on the quality of the port and their conclusions:
The graphics are not next generation, but hold up very well. What makes them work more than anything is the striking use of color, atmosphere and environmental detail. Every single room, office, street or city is densely populated with objects and often people, making them feel used and lived in rather than just stale environments. The cyberpunk flavor and victorian architecture and dress code only add to the flair of this captivating vision of our future. There are a few noticeably dated textures on some NPCs faces and other areas, but overall the game looks and plays exceptionally well. Even the skylines and cityscapes are amazing and you will pause and stare at them more than once.

Performance remained smooth and bug free throughout my 30 or so hours of play on max settings and 1920x1080 resolution. I've heard a few reports of other people having trouble with some graphical glitches and Logitech mouse software, but I did not experience any of these problems on my machine or hardware.

The game is not without its flaws. A slightly rushed set of ending sequences, the contradictory boss fights and some other minor quibbles are there, but they rarely get in the way of enjoying this game. The scope of content is massive and it's consistently fun, engaging and surprising. The focus on choice and diversity invites you to play it more than once. It's an immersive experience that only gets richer with each play-through and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Do not miss this game.
