Ruin Revealed

We haven't seen an official press release yet, but IGN brings word from E3 of a new Diablo-style action RPG in development for th PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. With cloud saving and a console/handheld cross-platform setup, it sounds like it'll be a strong contender to scratch the loot-hording itch when it's released in the not-too-distant future:
Sony San Diego's studio is building an action-RPG for the Vita portable system. It's a a fast-paced game that looks quite a bit like Diablo, taking place from a three-fourths overhead perspective as you hack through monsters to get loot and power up.

It's also met to be competitive experience. As you play others can become your rival, and you can actually go in and attack opponent's lairs in your game. Ruin is meant to be constantly connected online, and tracks your statistics and progression.

Ruin will also have a PlayStation 3 version that works seamlessly with the Vita version, and the saves will be carry over between console and handheld device. The idea is to take the game with you if you're out somewhere or at home in front of your television.
