Deus Ex: Human Revolution Fan-powered Q&A

Keeping in line with their trend of good communication with the fans, the Eidos Montreal team has managed to spare some time from their work to answer to some fans' questions on their Tumblr page. It's a really worthy read, but in case you're dubious, here's a couple of examples:
When playing the PC version in the office do many people use a gamepad instead of mouse&keyboard?

The Great JF says:

Come on! You don't install a game on your PC to use a gamepad, especially for a FPS game! As far as I know, I didn't see one single developer playing DXHR on PC with a gamepad. But now that you ask the question I will start looking into it. Hope I don't catch anyone ;)

how prominent is hacking in the game?

The Great JF says:

Actually, it is a big part if you decide to invest in it. If you don't, you might have to do it 4 or 5 times (if I remember correctly) in the entire 30 hours of gameplay. And every time it's forced on you for story or pacing purpose, it's always on the lowest spectrum of difficulty because we can't penalize players who decide to ignore this aspect of the game.

When we were developing it, we were worried that players would get tired after a while but in all the playtests we did, I'd say that 95% of the players did not only invest into hacking but they were hacking every single thing they could find. We couldn't believe it and the feedback we were getting is that they weren't getting tired of it. So, we then said, let's f. put it all over the place even when it has no purpose at all, LOL!!! Ok, ok, I made up the last part ;)
