Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls Reviews

A few more semi-favorable reviews for Xseed's PSN-exclusive Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls are in, starting with a solid score of 7.5/10 from GameSpot:
Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls is one uncompromising game. To really appreciate this sort of RPG, you need to be either someone who fondly remembers the good old days or someone who has always wanted to take a trip back in time to the dungeon crawlers that dad used to play. As such, it's either a good game or an awful one depending on your perspective. But the developers have clearly succeeded in their efforts to turn back the clock for the nostalgia-minded, so you have to admire the effort and the end results, even if you can't fully get into its old-time atmosphere.

Then we head to GamingOgre for a score of 65%:
Overall, Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls isn't for everybody. Hell, it may not even be for fans of the Wizardry franchise. While this is a true to old school dungeon crawler experience, they've taken away a lot of the interactions and exploration that make these games memorable and replaced it with a pure form dungeon crawling grinder. Though not a bad game, W:LOLS sometimes feels like more of a chore than it does fun. Still, if grinding doesn't bother you, and you're not afraid of the dark, you may just find something that you'll really enjoy; and for $15 bucks you'll be hard pressed to find a game that will give you this much replay value (with times ranging around the 200 hour mark for the Platinum.)

Before concluding with a score of 67/100 from Clash Entertainment:
Wizardry Labyrinth of Lost Souls is a solid role playing game that fills a certain style in the way it always has. This is a two edged sword. It is neat that it stays faithful to the franchise. It is disappointing that it ignores so many advances in the genre. If you know the Wizardry franchise then you will enjoy Wizardry Labyrinth of Lost Souls. If you have issues with experimentation, and a slower pace - then Wizardry Labyrinth of Lost Souls is not for you. Families should pay close attention to the various moral, ethical, and spiritual issues in Wizardry Labyrinth of Lost Souls.
