Hunted: The Demon's Forge Previews

With barely a little more than a week until the game gets released in North America, some websites have taken the chance to get a last look at Bethesda and inXile's dungeon crawler.

BattleStrats summarizes the game's most interesting points:
Caddic, the hulking warrior and deadly swordsman, has some deadly abilities at his beck and call including a dash skill where he uses his shield and a burst of speed to smash into enemies with a debilitating result. He also has an ability called Brimstone where he can use fireballs that detonate upon contact with an enemy along with a levitation skill called Wind of Wrath that he can use to kill enemies in mid-air, and finally a shocking ability known as Dragon's Breath where he can send out a bolt of electricity that shocks and damages opponents.

E'Lara is one of the few elves left in the world and one of its finest marksman inhabitants. Her people were slaughtered by the Minotaurs when she was young and her ability to survive the massacre only gives notice to what deadly abilities she possesses. E'Lara uses her shield for defense as moving cover, allowing her to find vantage points to use her bow. She too possesses the Brimstone and Dragon's Breath abilities but also has a Arctic Arrow ability that slows or freezes enemies in place.

The Controller Online too takes a look at the game's main features and they seem to be excited about it:
Hunted: The Demon's Forge has 2 player online or local co-op, but there is another important piece of the online experience we haven't looked at yet. This mode is called Crucible. In Crucible you create a dungeon with as many rooms as you want, as many enemies as you want and a the bonuses or penalties you want. The gold you collect during the single player campaign is used to unlock more option for you Crucible dungeons. This mode also has a randomizer so you can jump into a quick Crucible any time as well as online uploads so you can share your maps with your friends or download others from the community.

Ausgamers too gives us an overview, though it appears to be partially based on some hands-on time with the title:
It might not be the flashiest looking game coming out of the Bethesda gates this year, but Hunted: The Demon's Forge might very well end up being the little game that could. It has great characters (one of which is voiced by Lucy Lawless ) with great dialogue, and marries two very different gameplay-styles together successfully. Co-op is a lot of fun to play through, while the meat of the game isn't all there is to the game; with plenty on the side to keep you exploring for "12 to 20-hours", depending on your play-style. Add to this the dungeon looting component and the in-game rewards attached with more on offer in the tantalising Crucible mode, and Hunted might just tide you over until the Holiday release slaw.
