BioWare producer Casey Hudson confirmed the presence of same-sex relationship for both male and female characters in Mass Effect 3, also directly contradicting a PC Gamer interview we reported earlier. Here's what he said:

Happy to confirm #ME3 supports wider options for love interests incl. same-sex for m&f chars, reactive to how you interact w/them in-game.

And a couple of interesting tidbits on character interaction in ME3:

#ME3 writing team has some great ideas for breaking the mold on char. interactions, which should add to non romance relationship.

@CaseyDHudson No seriously, will there be 'friendships' along with 'romances'? I'm not completely sure if all my crew are also my friends.

@Jexx21 Good point. Peope liked the friendly drink with Chakwas in #ME2, and we're doing more of that type of thing for #ME3
