SOE Service Taken Down, All Affected MMORPGs Offline

As part of their ongoing investigation into the PlayStation Network breach that led to 78 million accounts being compromised, Sony has taken their SOE services offline, which means that all of their MMORPGs - including EverQuest, EverQuest II, and Star Wars Galaxies - are inaccessible for the time being.

Dear Valued SOE Customers,
We have had to take the SOE service down temporarily. In the course of our investigation into the intrusion into our systems we have discovered an issue that warrants enough concern for us to take the service down effective immediately. We will provide an update later today (Monday). We apologize for any inconvenience and greatly appreciate your patience.

Ugh. All of this unwanted publicity can't be good.
