Side Reveals Fable III Casting and Voice Recording Stats

In a press release issued this morning, creative production house Side announced that they ended up casting 80 voice actors and recorded over 470,000 words of dialogue during the development of Fable III.

For the 3rd instalment of Microsoft's massively popular Fable franchise Side were commissioned to carry out all casting, direction and voice recording.

Casting for almost 200 characters, and utilising the considerable skills of lead voice director Kate Saxon, Side recorded a script of over 470,000 words over 5 continuous months.

Over 80 actors brought vibrant life to Albion, including Sir Ben Kingsley, John Cleese, Stephen Fry, Michael Fassbender, Zoe Wanamaker, Bernard Hill, Simon Pegg and Naomie Harris, to name just a few.

The crazy thing about an expensive endeavor like this is that some of us would prefer that the money go elsewhere (better writers, more gameplay depth and length, etc.). Millions of dollars for Hollywood-voiced characters doesn't necessarily make the game "better".
