We don't ant to see the latest of reviews for First Person Shooters. We come here for RPG's. We don't want that other crap on here. We don't to have to wade through tons of other stuff.

Thanks! Last time I played Dragonfall back in late 2020, there's no guide for Hong Kong so it's good to see now.

I've expressed worry here, true, but I do not see why we should not give Gamebanshee the benefit of the doubt given how emphatic SWCarter's insistence has been. Not every change is a catastrophe. For example, I panicked when I heard that Gamefaqs had been bought by a company that some insisted ruined everything they got their hands on. However, it's been many months and there have been no changes there at all. Of course, negative COULD always come in the future, but so far nothing has happened. I'm just as happy with the site as ever.

I don't know. The two main changes coming from the new owners are: we're going to update the site so it works better and is easier to navigate, and we're going to add staff so we can provide more coverage. These seem like positives to me, and yet the responses have been... less than enthusiastic. Part of the reason the update is taking so long is because we're being careful with the conversion process, and we're adding some new content as we go along (like actual spell databases for BG and BG2, replacing the spell screenshots we have now). You just have to have a little faith.Anyway, I started posting here because I thought I could reassure people that the site update isn't going to be the Worst Thing Ever, but obviously that hasn't worked. So unless somebody has a specific question about something, I'll just remove myself from the conversation.

Little known fact: Being condescending towards and dismissive of the members of your community on a niche video game website is a good way to destroy any remaining shreds of attention or faith that still exist among said members of your community.

Little known fact: GameBanshee readers are really pessimistic. Is this all residual pain from when the doctors sold BioWare?

Don't change. You are fixing what's not broken. You will end up losing your core audience and defeat the purpose of the investment. The whole point of this site is what is it today. M&A. Always the same. Whether in gaming, or any other industry. The parent eats the child and is convinced they can change the world. The executives and board members always need to change something - because they know best how to maximize the ROI on their investment! Squeeze out more profits, achieve double digit growth, be the champion that takes GB to the next level! What's that you say? The consumers don't want change? What do they know? Once they see what we have in store for them, they'll love it! Right? ... right?

Booo! I've read this site since year 2000m don't change ANYTHING at all!!

Long-time reader of this site and this is actually my first comment but I feel like I have to lend another voice to what some are already saying. We're fans of GB and it does fill a certain niche for us. I'm all for positive change and if GB can (mostly) stay the same, it might be for the best. I'm cautiously optimistic since the track record for acquisitions of this sort do not have stellar records. Will still be rooting for GB nonetheless.

Did you ever play Darklands? Probably the most underated game imo. The research, level of detail of the time period and creative ways they incorporated religion, superstition, alchemy, etc was inspired. The game is epic! Difficult too...those raubritter kick ass until your party is well-equipped. It was also difficult to get training from the snobby/pretentious Latin-speaking academics in the universities as well.
