I find it commendable that this site is still up and going in a way, best regards

Their argument is that perpetual isn't the same as irrevocable, but that's not logical. Of course you never know how a court will rule. Also it's possible there's a precedent they can cite.

Could they legally do that?! I mean Pathfinder is already using Wizards' OGL and now Paizo is putting together their own OGL based on Pathfinder?

The thing about conversion mods for 3D games is that by the time they are done (if ever), the engine they are converting to is already so old that it defeats the purpose of conversion. I'd rather play the original (well, not Oblivion) if it is still playable and add some enhancemets to update it a bit. You could argue that some things, like Morrowind's combat, can only be fixed by conversion due to engine reasons, but still I don't think that switching it to Skyrim's systems would do the game a favour.

I think the reason for no manual saves is so you can't redo your choices when they don't work out. It was a bit frustrating to be rushed through the investigation and have to accuse people of murder based only on motive. Also some of the people's attitudes seemed too modern.

Cool that Paizo stepped into the breach. Never tried PF nor SF 2.0, though.

I started coming here way back when mainly for the BG and BGII subsites, and kept coming to keep up with the RPG landscape throughout the years. Thanks for all the work you put into the site Jon, and best wishes!

I get the feeling. My main gripe with 2E (and I played a lot), is two-fold:1. Virtually no player agency in building a character. (Yes, RP, I get it, but I don't need rules anyway to flesh out my character.)2. Way too much DM agency. It makes it very easy for a DM to play against their players and treat them unfairly, given the leeway DMs get under those rules. (A gripe I also have with 5E.)I have seen way too many DMs of that type.

Yup, I'm currently replaying NWN2 and it shows. Anyway, that's why I mentioned that I get the appeal of 3e, it allows pretty much whatever you want and you can always find a way to justify it RP-wise. That and it got rid of some hardcore stupid stuff like save vs wands. It's more of a personal preference, to me a more restrictive approach feels more grounded in the lore of the setting (if this makes any sense to you).
