Ranger Abilities
Level 1

Marked Prey: Designates a single target as prey, giving the ranger and animal companion a damage bonus against it.

Type: Active (1 per encounter)

Speed: Average

Range: 20m

Effect (Target): Marked for 30s




Wounding Shot: As he or she would with fleeing prey, the hunter aims for a spot that will slow the target enemy's progress, Hobbling it and inflicting Raw Damage to it over time.

Type: Active (2 per encounter)

Speed: Average

Range: 6m

Interrupt: 0.5s

Effect (Target): Hobbled for 10s vs. Fortitude

Effect (User): Full Attack, 100% Damage inflicted over time (6s) vs. Deflection


Level 3

Predator's Sense: Heightens the predatory instincts of the ranger's animal companion, giving them a damage bonus on any creature suffering a damage over time effect.

Type: Passive

Effect (Animal Companion): +50% Damage against targets afflicted with Damage Over Time




Swift Aim: The ranger gets into a speedy and fluid offensive rhythm, reducing Accuracy but increasing Fire Rate and reload time with ranged weapons and Attack Rate with melee weapons.

Type: Modal

Speed: Instant

Effect (User): +20% Attack Speed, +50% Reload Speed, -7 Accuracy




Vicious Aim: By lowering Attack and Reload Rate, the ranger is able to take more careful aim, giving them increased Accuracy and Damage.

Effect (User): -20% Ranged Attack Speed, -20% Reload Speed, +10 Ranged Accuracy, +20% Ranged Damage


Level 5

Arrow Sense: The ranger gains a portion of his of her animal companion's senses and instincts, becoming especially sensitive to incoming ranged attacks that target Deflection.

Type: Passive

Effect (User): +15 Defense against ranged attacks




Defensive Bond: The empathic bond between ranger and animal companion yields a preternatural awareness of incoming danger, giving both a significant bonus to Defense when both are subjected to the same area of effect attack.

Effect (User and Animal Companion): +15 Defense agianst AOE attacks




Stalkers' Link: Long experience fighting together enables the ranger and animal companion to fight as a highly efficient team. The ranger gains an Accuracy bonus when fighting an enemy already engaged by the animal companion.

Effect (User): +10 Accuracy when attacking same target as animal companion


Level 7

Driving Flight: Each ranged attack loosed by the ranger contains such force as to fly straight through the first target and hit another target behind it for less damage.

Type: Passive

Effect (User): Ranged attacks bounce 1 time




Heal Companion: The ranger can heal his or her animal companion.

Type: Active (2 per encounter)

Speed: Fast

Range: 20m

Effect (Animal Companion): +[30 + 10 every 3 levels after 1] Endurance




Takedown: Instructs the ranger's animal companion to rush a target, knocking it Prone.

Type: Active (2 per encounter)

Speed: Average

Interrupt: 0.5s

Effect (Target): Prone for 5s vs. Fortitude

Effect (Animal Companion): Full Attack vs. Deflection


Level 9

Binding Roots: Conjures roots from the ground underneath a target, causing them to become Stuck.

Type: Active (5 per rest)

Speed: Fast

Range: 20m

Interrupt: 0.5s

Effect (Target): Stuck for 30s vs. Reflex




Revive Companion: The ranger can revive his or her animal companion and heal a small amount of Endurance.

Type: Active (1 per rest)

Speed: Fast

Range: 20m

Effect (Animal Companion): Revive with 50 Endurance


Level 11

Master's Call: Cails the ranger's animal companion to his or her side, causing the companion to move back to the ranger at increased speed, ignoring Engagement and knocking any enemies in the way Prone.

Type: Active (3 per rest)

Speed: Average

Range: 100m

Interrupt: 0.5s

Effect (Target): 15-20 Slash damage, Prone for 5s vs. Fortitude




Stunning Shots: Takes advantage of enemy distraction while Engaged by the ranger's animal companion, Stunning the enemy (as a secondary attack) when the ranger lands a Hit or Critical Hit.

Type: Passive

Speed: Average

Interrupt: 0.5s

Effect (Target): Stunned for 2s vs. Fortitude




Play Dead: The ranger's animal companion falls over and appears to be dead (cannot be targeted) for a limited time. While playing dead, the companion regains Endurance.

Type: Active (2 per encounter)

Speed: Instant

Effect (Animal Companion): +20 Endurance, Untargetable for 10s, Prone for 10s, Damage Shield for 10s


Level 13

Powder Burns: The ranger overloads each shot of his or her firearm with excessive powder. The resulting blast generates a powerful cone of flame, but temporarily leaves the ranger Blinded.

Speed: Instant

Effect (User): Blinded




Twinned Arrows: When the ranger uses a Hunting Bow or War Bow, they can opt to fire two arrows with each shot. Each shot has reduced Accuracy.

Type: Modal

Speed: Instant

Effect (User): -10 Accuracy when using Hunting Bow or War Bow, +1 Projectiles when using Hunting Bow or War Bow


Level 15

Vengeful Grief: When a ranger or his or her animal companion is knocked out, the partner suffers the normal effects of Bonded grief, but becomes filled with focused rage for a short duration. While so focused, they gain Speed, Movement, and do additional Damage.

Type: Passive

Effect (Self): +20% Damage, +1.3 Move Speed, +20% Attack Speed
