Background

You'll receive this quest from Logi in the Rockhammer Mine (#1) when you talk to him after accepting the quest Collecting on a Debt from Leisle in Rockhammer.


Walkthrough

Logi will tell you that he can't pay what he owes to Leisle while the mine is overrun with bugs, but then he'll hit upon an idea that can solve everybody's problem. He'll tell you that if you can exterminate the Cave Scorpions in the southeastern part of the mine, then he'll pay you what he owes Leisle. There isn't any way to negotiate with Logi. The only way to proceed with the quest is to accept his offer.

You'll encounter about a dozen Cave Scorpions in the southeastern part of the mine. There are traps in that area as well, and sometimes you'll see a notice of a scorpion stepping on one and taking some damage. After you've defeated the scorpions, when you return to Logi he'll pay you the 300 gp as promised, and you'll also earn 300 xp.
