Berengar is the witcher Vesemir mentioned before you left Kaer Morhen at the beginning of the game. He'll always be one step ahead of you during the game, but you'll finally catch up with him outside of Murky Waters. The decisions you make while speaking with him ultimately affect the coming battle with Azar Javed.
