Depths of Peril Peek #2

A second "peek" feature for Soldak Entertainment's Depths of Peril is now available over at RPG Vault. This time, lead designer Steven Peeler tells us about the strategic elements being incorporated into the RPG:
Since the main goal is to destroy the other covenants to become the leader of the city, most relations eventually end up in war, causing member of both to attack each other on sight. Adventuring around the world, even wandering around in town, will be more dangerous during wars. Sooner or later, one of them is going to decide to raid the other to destroy it.

A raid is an outright attack on a covenant's house. The aim is to destroy the faction's lifestone since it is the members' only way to resurrect. If it is destroyed, so is the covenant. During a raid, the attacking side can bring its leader and all of its recruits (up to five), while the defending covenant will have its head, all of its recruits, and up to four hired guards (enchanted monsters). A one on one covenant raid can be a pretty big battle, and that's assuming no others decide to jump in on the fun.
