Well, that's protected by nostalgia, I played that quite a long time ago, so is the Witcher ultimately, but let's just say, if Triss wasn't in the Witcher 3, I wouldn't have played it for very long. Like running around that City, I would still just log out of the game in Triss' apartment.

I'm curious how you feel about Planescape: Torment, arguably the best RPG ever. It has a fixed protagonist.

Too bad they have a fixed protagonist, a key element of p&p is character generation, so this is more like reading a novel in the setting than, you know, playing in the setting. I don't mind adventure games, the thing about it is, you can watch this on youtube, if you don't get to create a character the narrative better be bloody special. Like I enjoy adventure games, but I only play the ones where I either love the protagonist or the story is really engaging.I will have to see, about this one, but there's a lot of negative points already for no character generation.

I believe a Collector's Editions came out in a couple of regions after the initial release. It added two merchants, Joluv and Diedre, to the Copper Cornet and Adventurer Mart respectively, adding some Icewind Dale items to the game.This update was later made available as a free patch.Both are included in EE & as a patch, should be in the GoG classic version - however, if it isn't, I think the component is available in one fo the Gibberlings3 BGII tweak mods.

They could just add load screens to the console editions maybe, the old consoles I mean.

Forgive me for not knowing but what is Collector's edition? It appears Beamdog has a collector's edition for Switch version. Is this it? I am a bit confused since reading for e.g. spear of Kuldahar +3 in the Wiki: In classic (SoA), this spear is only available to the Collector's Edition owners; it's integrated in BG:EE and GoG version of the classic (SoA).I don't remember there being any collector's editions when the game came out 20 yrs ago.

Yup, nothing goid came from Secret World's update. They dumbed down an original and cool combat/class mechanic.
