Shields sure are good, but not crucial. Hell, I even manage to tank with my staff wileding, cloth dressed mage! Being a magic user tends to draw "aggro" but I do fine with parry and debuff spells, I especially like Iron Rust Rot, which essentially makes any metal weapons against you useless, and ...

Continuing after the main quest?

I'm about to finish bg1 and already I'm starting to plan my (second) bg2 run. I'd really like to roleplay, so, I'm going to do the main quest as soon as possible, rescuing Imoen should be the main concern, and after that, killing Irenicus I guess (don't remember exactly what happens after rescuing ...

Atronach is a killer birthsign, you'll absorb(which is like resisting them!) HALF of every magical attack against you, and lots of creatures use magic... I'm even using it for my non magic user character, which i think is more suiting, because i dont rely on magic, but still have enough mana to cast ...

That is a good suggestion.
I usually play out the different paths, and see if I can find a justification afterwards, for the more lucrative one's, OOC. But this time I just felt like doing ...

2 Questions: high-lighting and roleplaying nice.

Ages ago since I last played. I somehow recall a function, pressing TAB would high-light everything which could be interacted with, ie chest, hidden caches etc. But this doesn't seem to be the case :) Is it possible to unlock such a feat?

My other question(or complaints perhaps, not sure, really ...

Yes, those will-o-wisps are a pain in the POSTERIOR. . Very tedious to fight indeed. Their draning-spells seem to be "On Touch", so you can use the hit and run technique, always staying out of their reach. That way you'll take them out without beeing drained to much. Also, a good tip is to use ...

I prefer 3d person, it's like wathcing a really coll interactive movie :) But it's nearly impossible to aim range attacks though, the crosshair, ie the sneakicon is not centered right, a pitty.

It's not like Wow wherw you have to optimize, and make all the right choises to be playable. If you are good at lockpicking, and do it alot, you simply become good at picking become. Also, you can pick any lock any time, no minumin lvl required.
For combat, you get to choose between blunt or blades ...

If the spell is active on the creature when it dies, and if you have a soul gem of appropriate size, you would be "catching" its soul. Which can be used to enchant stuff.

I think it has to do with your lvl. I'm lvl 6, and have just recenty found a silver mace, and a couple of silver arrows in random drops.
For ghost's, find ruins. There is one, for example, just north of where you leave the sewers for the first time.
And you don't really need silver. They can be ...

I don't know, it could have to do in which order you find the clues. I was going through her room countless times, and somehow overlooked it. But after finding the picture in the tower, I found the clue in her room instantly.
Perhaps you could knock the chair over? :)

Some responses have no voices altough the characters are moving their lips, and the subtitles disappear beofre I can read it.

Didn't you read the orignal post?
The sneak attacks! It deals +5d6 damage whenerever you hit someone who is "incapacitaded", i.e. stunned, stasis, choked etc. Automaticly. So if you use Flurry on someone who is stunned +10d6, you get a damagebonus of 10-60, on top of the standard damage from the ...
