Beyond Divinity Peek of the Week #26

The twenty-sixth installment of RPGVault's "Peek of the Week" feature for the upcoming Divine Divinity sequel is now available. This time, Larian's Andre Taulien demonstrates that creating even a small element can be an exacting task. An excerpt:
It was my job to create a small interface window (which we call "plates") that represents a small bag where the player can place up to five crystals, which he may find during the game.

First, I had to think of how exactly I would visualize the bag. I could make it look just like a small inventory window, or make the plate really look like a small bag. The latter idea is of course nicer, so I decided to go for that one. The next question was, how to display the bag so things can be put in and taken out. I chose a completely unfolded bag from the top view, with a small cord attached to close it.

Okay, the way it had to look like was defined. So how do I continue? I could
- Paint the bag,
- Model the bag in 3D and render it, or
- Make a photo and post process it.
