Talking to Destructoid, a NCSoft representative has also specified that the beta events won't be limited to the usual weekend format but will be more extensive:
A representative for NCSoft has informed Destructoid that these beta events will not be mere "weekends," instead opting for tests for "several weeks." If you're wondering how the game plays, it's basically very similar to World of Warcraft, but with a sci-fi/steampunk veneer, and other contemporary design changes.
