BioWare Interview

Today's GameSpin article on GameSpy includes an interview with Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka of BioWare about their upcoming Neverwinter Nights. The interview was conducted before the news that Interplay will not be publishing the game, so unfortunately there is no new light shed on NWN's situation. As usual, a snippet to follow:

GameSpy: What cool things have you added to the game recently?

Greg Zeschuk: The coolest things lately I've seen are features of the toolset -- my personal favorites are doors. I know that sounds goofy, but the doors in Neverwinter Nights are extremely cool. You place doors by dropping them into any open door frame -- they can be locked, trapped, assigned hit points, and linked to other areas. They represent the integration of the tools and the game -- it's a seamless process that makes creating easy.

Ray Muzyka: I like using the editors as well -- it's neat to open up a module and look at all of its components -- scripting, dialog, creatures, items, areas etc. It's even more satisfying to open that same module in-game and be able to run around and play inside it!
