Overview
1 - Kaer Almhult / Hidden Treasure
You'll encounter pirates all over the ruined keep here, both above ground and below. In the ramparts on the western side of the keep, you'll find the diagram for
Ursine Steel Sword - Enhanced. In the underground dungeon (accessed via a hole in the northwestern corner of the keep), you'll discover a Key to Prison, which will unlock two prison cells where you'll find four random treasure chests.
2 - Cave
This cave is involved in the quest
Contract: Here Comes the Groom. Inside, you'll find the diagram for
Ursine Crossbow.
3 - Bandit Camp
After defeating the bandits here, you'll find the diagram for
Mastercrafted Wolven Trousers in a chest on the wall closest to the fast travel marker. You should be able to jump right onto the wall without needing to climb anything else.
4 - Svorlag
You'll encounter a few things of interest in this town:
- Barber, Innkeep, Merchant, and Smith (Amateur Blacksmith). They'll provide their regular services. The innkeep will also have a few gwent cards for sale.
- Notice board. If you read the notes on this board, then you'll trigger the quest
Contract: Here Comes the Groom.
- Kevan. He's involved in the quest
Contract: Here Comes the Groom.
- Hjort and Udalryk. They're involved in the quest
Possession.
5 - Hidden Treasure
On the small island here, you'll find a corpse holding a Note. Reading the Note will trigger the quest
Not Only Eagles Dare.
6 - Hov
In this village you'll meet Gunnar and Lydrik. They'll give you the quest
Master of the Arena.
7 - Hidden Treasure
If you can defeat the level 48 archgriffin here, then in its nest you'll discover a corpse holding a key and A Frustrated Warrior's Notes. Reading the notes will trigger the quest
Unlucky's Treasure.
8 - Ivar
At this spot you'll encounter a warrior preparing to kill Ivar. If you save Ivar, then he'll give you the quest
Free Spirit.
