A long and complex quest which begins when you are approached at a random time in the Imperial City by a Dunmer named Ralsa Norvalo. She says her husband, Gilen, needs help in a matter of great importance, and asks you to go to a man called Seridur's house in the Temple District. Follow your compass, and when you get there Seridur will explain that he is a member of the Order of Virtuous Blood, dedicated to the destruction of vampires. He says that Roland Jenseric, who lives nearby, is a vampire and asks you to kill him.

You must go to Jenseric's home, break in, and search for clues as to where he might be. You will find a letter from his girl friend mentioning that she will meet him in his cabin east of the Imperial City, in the Great Forest. Go out there (compass again), enter the cabin and talk to Jenseric. He insists he's not a vampire, but claims that Seridur is. He saw him biting his girl-friend's neck. His girl-friend was killed in the ensuing melee, and Jenseric fled to his cabin to think things over. He suggests you talk to Phintias, owner of the First Edition Bookshop in the Market District of the Imperial City.

Spare Jenseric, and visit Phintias. From him you will discover that Seridur often visits a burial site called the Memorial Cave, which he marks on your map. Pay the cave a visit, and you'll that it's infested with vampires. Be very careful to save often if you do not want catch Porphyric Hemophilia, or Vampirism - for which the cure is immensely tedious to complete. Eventually you will find and kill Seridur.

Go back to Roland Jenseric's cabin, and he will ask you to meet him back at Seridur's house in the Temple District. This will remain the HQ of the Order of Virtuous Blood, with Roland Jenseric in charge. You are made an Honorary Member of the Order, and given an enchanted ring which you should wear in any future encounters with vampires.
