Yes, the Shadowkeeper utility allows you change the animation of the player avatars. You can look like a drow, shadowthief, beholder and whatever.

Just run a search for Shadowkeeper and you'll find the download site fast enough.

Yeppers. You found the right weapon and tactic for that encounter sure enough.

The mace is considered to be heavier enchanted that +2 so it can hit all creatures in the game.

Yep. They open four portals on the map. They are all grouped together, side by side, and have identical paintings on them. You propably already opened them and didn't take notice about it.

Bows are indeed twohanded weapons but the Twohanded Weapon Style only gives bonuses to melee weapons. Bows are quite powerful enough without additional bonuses and Archers are the best bowyers in the game. I don't recommend dualing a Archer into a cleric though, from a powergamers point of view ...

An infinite amount of magic.

I never pay the lisence myself and fight the cowled wizards until they send "the greatest of their guild". Great source for spells, money and experience not to mention that a druid wipes the floor with a tightly grouped formation of mages with a single insect plauge ...

I agree that cleric used as healers are a bit uneccesary in BG2. When your fighters have four times the hitpoints of warelephants it's kind of rare that you run out of hitpoints anytime soon. And three Heal spells and a resurection cover any unforseen "accidents" http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb ...

Familiars are the equivalent of a mages wizard eye with some mildly useful abilities of their own. They are permanent after summoning though and are quite speedy and able to evade most enemies if micromanaged.

My edited Kensai/mage/thief pseudodragon NPC. Kind of cool that I actually managed to pull that one off with my meager editing skills.

Kind of amusing that you can actually get your pick pocket skill to be too high. Since Bernard in the copper coronet lessens your pickpocket skill with 85% (I'm not that sure, it might be even more) AND sport those very useful spells I tend to have my thief character drink alot of potions of master ...

There are a few areas available after you emerge from the underdark that's for exploration alone. They are quite small but immensly well drawed in my opinion.

One of my pet peeves is that they don't reuse the maps in the game. The druid grove map is tremendously detailed and propably took forever ...

Well on the up side there's a lot of Romance patches hovering around the web that removes the "racial preference" of the ladies in the game.

I think even planetbaldursgate posted one of those on valentines day.

Hmmm... are you saying that you can see the location but it's greyed out? This might be because you have to exit Athkatla trough the city gates, in the gates district, in order to reach the areas outside the city. After you visited them once you can however reach them from any map.

I would go with Jaheira, Sly. She's got the largest personal quest of all the NPCs.

None of the joinable NPCs are essential for the plot though as the numerous solo-players have proven beyond doubt now.

I thought about that as well, Weasel, but the wyvern is quite simply too large to be useful. Perhaps a baby wyvern would be more appropriate?

I think I've hammered out some good guidelines for the various familiars now. Trouble is that I only got a portrait for a pseudodragon. Anyone know what a ...

You can still have the NPCs in the game join the party in MP games and you can also let the people that joined play as them too. Kind of neat to have Minsc and Keldorn chatting about this and that and taking care of themselves for once. Image

The Familiar as an NPC? What class?

While poking and editing with the game I came up with the idea to make the familiar an NPC that where part of the party itself.

Said and done, I ventured out on the web and found a neat little picture of a pseudodragon to make a portrait out of and created a character wich was to become the ...

Thank you Shadowstrider. I already have downloaded some of the items from your site, though I changed them a fair bit before implementing them I must confess, so I understand that you're close to a master when it comes to editing the game.

Oh happy day! (The joy of editing)

Some of you might have noticed that I've all but abandoned this messageboard for quite some time now. The reason for this is that I recently discovered the joys of editing the game more indeepth than I've done earlier.

Having painstakingly learned how to edit items, wich was a lot easier than I ...
