pickpocketing at 100 but not 100%?
pickpocketing at 100 but not 100%?
I don't understand why my thief has over 100 pickpocketing skill, but it still fails a few times? should be flawless! is the number not a %? it goes above 100, so it can't be!

a few things 100% is 100% but you fail because your target have the chance to detect people stealing from then.
A example (note, I dont really know the exact mumbers for things, but it is like it works9
You have 100% and try to steal form someone that have 30% chance to to detect (chance to detect is determined by class and level), so your real chance is 70 % to made a clean steal.

Kind of amusing that you can actually get your pick pocket skill to be too high. Since Bernard in the copper coronet lessens your pickpocket skill with 85% (I'm not that sure, it might be even more) AND sport those very useful spells I tend to have my thief character drink alot of potions of master thievery.
If you go above 220% skill it seems like your skill gets negative. You get caught everytime, no save.
Then again I just finished the game with more than a twohundred thousand gold pieces so perhaps I shouldn't bother with stealing anymore?

So is there a table to see what is the percentage a merchant can detect your pickpocketing?
Also what is the optimal for pickpocketing?
Where can you climb walls? How about reading another language?
What's the difference between hide in shadow and walk in silent?
Am I asking to much? Are you guys going to answer my question?
Anyone? Do you think this looks like Noober's work? How about Neeber? Do you get experience points for that?
I better take a break, yeah?

The party received 10,000 experience points.

It is possible. One possible cause is if there is only one byte reserved for the total. Then it might overflow and you get negative numberOriginally posted by Thomas:
