Actually, Shining Force was for theSega Genesis. A good game, through and through, though.
Heh heh, Yeh I never had a console as a youngin' so all the console games I've been played have been on emulators, so I get confused easy.
I don't know Shinning Force at all, so can't say.
It's an old snes game, think Heroes of might and magic, except with PC's rather than units, and the range of long range PC's was a lot shorter.
If you've never played any heroes of might and magic games, then I am not sure what ...

Xandax have you played any of the Shining Force games, would you say your prefer that kind of combat to say the quasi-real time combat of Baldur's gate? or rate it about the same.

Combat and RPG's

In particualar fantasy RPG's, It seems to be the main downfall of many RPG's, combat in KOTOR and Morrowind is just completely tedious, Gothic, I am told, isn't much better, being far too complex and boring. Then we have a slight improvement with the old block, normal + power attack method as used ...

Could people have been scared off by the source engine?
Most people I know who enjoy adult/challenging games or whatever you'd like to call them are running fairly old machines and are quite happy to re-play old copies of Albion or System Shock rather than investing in the money to upgrade their ...

Yeh, I suppose that comment was more to do with daggerfall than morrowind. But I don't like having to find a specific NPC to progress my quest when anyone in the town could have imparted the knowledge I needed to know, I prefer walking up to someone and them either knowing it, and telling me, or ...

I think definitely a curse, I enjoy being able to walk up to anyone and ask them about any topic and they will have a varying degree of knowledge of it. I actually preferred the daggerfall system, where half the time they would give you the wrong directions. I think they are taking some of the ...

Agreed about the armour looking a little dodgy in morrowind, they should bring back different styles of the same armour, I can remember spending many hours trying to track down gold trimmed daedric armour in daggerfall. That was such a vanity game.

Newb Question

I took a bump to the head the other night.... so let's just blame it on that.... but I have done all the main quests in santa monica (blew up the warehouse) and i have no idea how to get to downtown..... and if my question hasn't become obvious by now... you are probably slower than I, so let me ...

ES games tend to have the latest and greatest in graphics, so i don't think we have to worry about that, as for the classes being more strict I think they should bring back the restrictions from daggerfall for custom class creation... i.e. If you want a really powerfull mage, you have to take an ...

If you set enough of them free (15? i think) you can join the twin lamps. And there are a few related quest to that I think. I am not sure if any of the quest give you anything decent.

Monks and Kama's

I know you get the extra monk attacks when using a kama and can use flurry of blows... but what other unarmed feats/abilities also work i.e. stunning attack, circle kick etc. Also are kamas are the only weapon in NWN that a monk can use with the unarmed bonus attacks aren't they?
