You know, I haven't run across that. As far as I know they don't provide such a clue. You may very wwll be right and I just overlooked it, but at what point does this happen?

After numerous unsuccessful attempts to complete the Warders' tasks in proper order I went back to an earlier save and re-played the quest. The first time I played it very loosely, asking the Warders fir the riddles in no particular order and solving them whenever I had the pieces in hand. ?This ...

Warders' quests

I'm also having problems with this level. I've applied the latest patch, which leads me to believe that I'm not performing the quest properly. I have the mallet, the grapes, and the switch. I've had the Warders repeat their riddles. And I've read the books in the library.

But, the switch location ...

Somewhere I read the suggestion that the player rush his party directly to the fourth level and work his way down. I'm presuming this advice is premised upon the items to be found on that level. Specifically, the Sword of Balduran. Now, I haven't yet used this item in fighting werewolves. I'm ...

I would say that tough battles is an understatement. Many may disagree, but I tend to play a less physical game. And the werewolf / wolfwere attacks in the shipwreck were a real challenge.

The important lesson I learned here is: less is more. I had such luck in the first three levels of the boat ...

Merry Christmas, etc. Now, importing characters

Merry Christmas to all.

Now, the important stuff.

I'm playing a single-player game. I've patched it and removed the exp cap. At the time I kill Sarevok all my players have exceeded the cap. I want to retain their exp points when I begin TOSC. At the time I start the game all my characters have ...

Experience Cap removal

Believe it or not (O.K. believe it), the experience cap was no problem when I first played this game. I didn't even approach 89000 exps. Now I've played more carefully and my team members are maxed out. When I searched for sites with exp. removal patches I found they're no longer there. Team BG's ...

Whew! That was a fight! I hasted Dynahier (gave her the Boots of Speed), and had her rush into the house to use a wand of fire a couple of times. By then the monsters were alerted to the point where they waited for her near the door entrance, so I didn't send her in a third time.

Instead, I armed ...

I'm going to have to backtrack a bit to make sure I got that scroll. I presumed I have to have it in order to make the cure work, regardless of whether or hot I kill Marek. I know that when I first encountered this strangeness I went to the Water Queen's house to make sure I hadn't overlooked it. At ...

Yes, I did. Everything seems to be going swimmingly. So I regard the quest as neat and complete.

The only thing that continues to bother me is that now and then I'll do back to the second floor of the Blade and Stars, only to find that the area is still blanked-out as though I'd never been there ...

Thank you for your insights. I must confess to (and simultaneously warn against) careless play. I play with the smallest possible dialogue screen. During a later combat with Marek for the purpose of trying to get those 10000 exp's I noticed that they suddenly appeared in the dialogue screen when ...

Degrodel's House

Whoa! I didn't expect that!

Not really knowing what I was doing I saunter into Degrodel's House in the NW section of the city. I was just looking to see what was there. Just adventuring around. Suddenly, here come the Battle Horrors, the Doom Guards, the Invisible Stalkers and Helmed Horrors. Even ...

Geas issues

I'm running into some curious anomalies in resolving the Geas quest, and I'm hoping someone may have some insights into it. I was able to get half the antidote from Lothander. I then went to Marek for the other half. Of course I had to kill him for it. I then discovered that only one character had ...

Well, reading the scroll wasn't the answer. I overlooked the area directly north of the Friendly Arms Inn. I knew from previous games that BG1 has a map containing a large number of Ankhegs and a cave full of the creatures. But I kept wandering around Larswood and Pelvdale looking for it. Now I can ...

Ah, thank you both. I did pick up three scrolls in Davaeorn's room, but I haven't read them. I mistakenly thought that simply having them in my inventory would suffice.

The first time I ran this episode I read the scrolls and got the info about the Iron Throne. But then I sent Imoen directly into ...

Entering city. How?

I've gone through all the maps outside Baldur's Gate, all four parts of the Cloakwood Forest, into the Cloakwood mines, and I finally killed Davaeorn.
Yet, I can't get into the city of BG. What critical dialogue string or quest may I have missed which is keeping me out of the city?

Least favorite quest / map

I just finished reading a long string about players' favorite quests / maps. Well, I haven't yet made up my mind about a favorite quest, but I just finished one that has got to be among my least favorite. It's the one involving Centeol and her spider and ettercap minions in the Cloakwood Forest.

I ...

Favorite place to store stuff

I've gathered a lot of stuff in my wanderings, particularly potions. When I first played BG1 I just sold things off when they got to be too much to carry around.

Then, of course, I'd come face to face with a situation where I needed a particularly potion or scroll real bad, but I'd already hocked ...

I fully agree that dumping Jaheira was not a very wise thing to do. I'm having serious second thoughts about Dynaheir, even though I originally needed her healing powers a lot. Ah, well. You pays your nickel and takes your chances.

The link to the Soulbringer site made the game look really ...

I hope the both of you enjoy PS:T. I've never heard of Soulbringer, and I curious why it was bundled with Planescape. Is it by the same studio?

One time I left Jaheira at the Inn in Nashkel. I wanted to keep Khalid in the group when I went to the Gnoll Stronghold to look for Dynaheir. I stepped out ...
