Werewolf Island
Where is werewolf island?
If you have ToSC installed you must go to Ulgoth's beard and then talk with a guy in a shack in the SE corner - talk to people near the shack and they will discus him. One will offer you a quest if you go to talk to him.
I forget his name - begins with M.

Also remember if u have ranged units to take along as much high lvl magic arrows adn bullets as u can(+2) I wasnt expecting no store and I soon had nothing to do with about 3 characters. Also bring along high lvl weaponry(above +1) AS they cant eevn hit the werewolves. That was also a pain in the ass jus watchin kivan take on the werewolves one at a time.... One down, 25 more to go....
It's pretty easy, I mean just go kill a dragon, get laid.

I would say that tough battles is an understatement. Many may disagree, but I tend to play a less physical game. And the werewolf / wolfwere attacks in the shipwreck were a real challenge.
The important lesson I learned here is: less is more. I had such luck in the first three levels of the boat with summoned monsters and raised dead that I figured such a strategy would work on the final level.
Trouble is, because of the way the group members are positioned when they come up the ladder makes it practically impossible to utilize them during the battle. They, in turn, are overwhelmed.
So I tried bringing up a mage and / or cleric to summon monsters and skeletons to weaken the werewolves, then scurrying back down the ladder. I found that to be a waste of time and resources. The werewolves would go through the summoned creatures with impunity.
I finally resolved on a strategy using potions of speed, two shielded characters with magic swords and potions of health, and a lot of micro-management to work them into the doorway behind the Head Werewolf. After the summoned werewolves started to cluster around the doorway ( where they were being picked off by my two shielded characters ), I would rush two fighters with ranged weapons up the stairs and toward the rear of the boat. They would turn and kill the werewolves from the back.
Quite the fight. No summoned creatures, only speed and positioning.

Somewhere I read the suggestion that the player rush his party directly to the fourth level and work his way down. I'm presuming this advice is premised upon the items to be found on that level. Specifically, the Sword of Balduran. Now, I haven't yet used this item in fighting werewolves. I'm curious to find how valuable it proves.
Judging from Scratchy's post speed seems to be an essential element of this episode. As I recall, when I first played this menu a couple of years back I always made sure my mage had plenty of haste spells memorized, and that everyone carried a supply of potion of haste. After speaking with Kaishas Gan the second time I ran my butt off to get away from the village.

what i've learned from the 4th floor is, that mages/bards and other classes that are not meant for toe to toe fight have no reason to step in the in the beginning of the fight, since the werewolves on your left will pulverize them... just put on the best ac you can come up with a cloud giant potion and a haste and you should be home free...
i've soloed that place with my half-elf fighter/thief and i don't remember having too much difficulties in there (full platemail with ring of prot +2 and baldurans helmet and a +1 shield with dex 19 they don't really hit you that often which is the key, if you try to bash them quicker you lose since they hit pretty dang hard as you all know
(although i have removed the exp cap to my solo game to "balance" the odds little bit, my char turned out to become quite the killer in the end but that's another story

If there's something more important than my ego. I want it caught and shot now.
It is just a useless item that Bioware put into the game because IIRC it is rumoured to have great power, or maybe be one of Baldurans most prescious belongings......Originally posted by dios

If I rember correctly, I was lucky my first time with the werewolves for having 1 cloudkill scroll in my inventory.
Went up, cast it, was nearly killed and went down.
After that, it was a lot of stealth and potions for Imoen (Hey, it was my first go, I didn't have Coran) and backstabbed the lot.
Minsc and Kivan finished the Head Honcho.
But actually, I hated the Demon in UB a lot more, do you know how long it took me to kill him!!!
My parents fought is was doing a Ewan McGregor/Trainspotting in my room!

I had the same "luck" as you it seems. For some reason did all my fighters always get "dying" in the firstround of combat...... really inrritating.......Originally posted by Mister Popo

Yeah, but the most anoying thing is that when I came to the demon for a second time, it wasn't a really hard fight, finished al the monks with fireballs and used backstabs to kill it.
Course luck always plays a part.

Wait a minute, U R not irritated that every Hobgoblin makes a saving throw against my direcharms and every time one of these young lasses take a shot at me, I'm charmed.
