How Do I Travel out of Santa Monica

Can anyone please tell me how I am suppose to travel to downtown or anywhere else? I am stuck in Santa Monica. Is there something I must do before I can travel?

Before you can go to the Downtown area, you must first complete the major quest of Santa Monica - this mean, you must blow up the warehouse using the astrolite. This will be the case for most of the game, progression in the main quests will continually open up new parts of the game.

If you've done this already, you need to take a cab to get to the downtown area. The cab is located near the diner. Just talk to the driver and it will pull up the city map.
