I started to try and beat the game and not get sidetracked. Last time, I got bored because things were too easy and then got my ass handed to me. This time the same thing happened. But i am determined to get through the game this time.
I am playing as a gangrel while in downtown los angeles. I am stuck with the doomsday cult quest (the freaks that are killing the homeless). I just don't get it, i had a rough time with the guy in the sewers, but as soon as i fight the girl in the hotel; i get completely f'd up.
If there is something i am not doing i'd like to know. I have a decent unarmed skill, i am buffing with fortitude, and am using a 2nd lvl protean. Yet this zombiegirl; just kicks my ass. Any ideas for what i should do to beat her.

A Rough beginning...

You may want to pursue some of the main quests (from LaCroix) first and build up your disciplines, stats (strength, stamina, brawl, and dodge), and armor first if you are having a hard time. If not, here are some general combat tips:
1. Universal rule of FPS: keep moving, you are harder to hit if you keep moving. Run around the room or out into the hall near the elevators if you can.
2. Use different attacks. The arrow keys plus your mouse button activate a particular attack. Supposedly the enemy AI in this game recognizes it when you use the same move repeatedly and then defends against it. Try pressing a different movement key (WASD is default) along with you left mouse button to attack.
3. You can press tab to defend against attacks. The success of which probably depends on your Dodge and/or Wits stats but I'm not sure.
4. You can use blood buff to temporarily increase your strength and thus increase damage.
If you think Jezebel (a disease carrying Toreador not a zombie) is tough, just wait till you meet the Bishop.

I just beat her. Though bishop wasn't fun. I figured since he was the leader of the ferals; i would have to fight him upclose. Of course i was wrong. What kind of a vampire uses a gun?
I took him down though. The reason i was dying was because i didn't buy the heavy clothing for the added protection. I guess it made sense. Thanks for the advice anyway.

The heavy clothes would help, as well as your abilities, and even weapons. I'd invest some points to weapons, of various sorts. Make sure you use a few bullets from the .38 before you sell it, as well as a few shotgun shells, before you sell that as well. With Bishop Vick, if he can see you, he will hit you. If he can't see you, then hit him. Use the stuff around the rooms to jump on, duck behind, etc. to gain a breather, if need be. Oh, and the sword is probably the best melee weapon you can get, if you are up to date on the patches. Not sure about ranged weapons, as I like to get up close and personal.

A New Problem
For some bizarre reason, my game has been changed so that the screen (when i play the game) appears in the bottom left corner. With the rest of the screen all black. I can play the game, but this is frustating. Does anyone know a way to fix this glitch?
I downloaded the game from gamestop so it already came patched; is there anything i can do to fix it?
