TWO Questions

Post by mberry »

1. I am runing patch 4.9 now. Can I apply patch 5 and still play my old saved games or do I have to start over.
2. What happens if you kill an NPC? As an experiment I completed the Venus quest (killed Boris) and while alone I took a quick drink from Venus. She seems none the worse for wear, but I could have drained her. What happens if you do something like this? I wonder, if you killed someone before they gave you a quest, particularly a main quest, could that end the game.

I wonder if you could feed and take out LaCroix?

Heh, try taking out Jack in the tutorial. That'll give you a laugh. It's either *that* or the NPC that makes the main quest move on is in Elysium. Minor quests npc's you'll just lose though. They won't just magically get up on their feet after a while, like in Oblivion.

Oblivion, where true immortality is decided on relevance to the player. Mankar Cameron? Pushover. The lowly NPC that happens to give the player a quest? A god among insects.

VtM: Bloodines is coded to where you cannot kill essential NPCs. So, it's really not an issue. If you can kill an NPC, like Boris, it means that there is another way to resolve said quest.

Venus

Well, it probably worked because Venus was in a position to be killed as part of the Venuscide quest. All the times form now on she will be behind the bar and I wont be able to get at her. That fine because I want the money. I had already taken out Boris.

What about Pischa though?

Spoiler
You can fight her. There is a dialog option to rile her the first time you meet her, and you duke it out. So she should remain killable even after you've gotten her quests.

You can attack and kill Pisha if you like and this is true for a lot of minor side quest NPCs. Better do it after finishing their quests though or you will fail them ;) .
