I don't think the world got noticably more stupid, but in the past century there has taken place a democratization of means of communication. Up to the start of the 20th century only the educated elite had access to the media (both as contributer and consumer); hence the intellectual level of what was broadcast was way higher. Could it be - we as a nation are getting more stupid? Or is it just with the introduction of a masscommunication tool as the Internet that we discover how stupid "we" actually are?![]()
